Chants of The Roman Missal: Study Edition
  • I just received my copy of The Chants of The Roman Missal: Study Edition; and I have just paged through it, especially its masterful introduction, of nearly sixty pages. I will be adopting at the principal text for my course in Presiding as a Deacon and a Priest. I think it will become the text on the subject.

Just curious.... other than the introduction, what's actually in it? Are all the chants in it, including prefaces and the like?
  • Yes, EVERY chant in the new Missal.
  • Wow: great resource!
  • Please forgive this possibly off-topic question. I thought that I had read somewhere that there was an ICEL musical setting of the Good Friday reproaches. When I looked in the new missal, all I found was the text. Am I imagining the existence or such a setting. If not, is it included in this publication? Cheers!

And a merry Christmas to all!

I am interested in finding the music for the revised Reproaches as well.

No, ICEL didn't set the reproaches, they're not notated in the Latin missal.
