    The "Adagio" of Samuel Barber is a fine example of a secular piece (slow movement of a quartet) that made an eloquent crossover into the sacred (or religious) music genre when Barber set the words of the "Agnus Dei" to it.

    It was always an Agnus, it just took him a while to find out.
