default category for forum posts?

    Question for the forum admin: Can there be a “default” category assigned to posts?

    More than once now, I have written a post for a new discussion, only to find that the submission is rejected when I finish it because I forgot to assign a category. And, rather rudely, the contents of the original post are then lost! So I end up having to re-type the entire post, only because I didn’t notice the (rather inconspicuous) discussion category dropbox.

    Maybe at least a Javascript alert that tells the user to select a discussion before submitting?

    (Browser is Firefox 3 beta 5.)

    i always do a copy of my post before i hit the button. that way if you get an error you still have your post on the clipboard. i have lost numerous posts here too.
