These were recorded last week at St. Cecilia's in Boston. Richard Clark is the conductor and recording engineer, and the choir is made up of a handful of local volunteers, including CMAA-types like myself, Elisabeth Pifer, and Fr. Jonathan Gaspar. We used Aristotle Esguerra's square-note transcription of the ICEL chants -- beautifully engraved, and extraordinarily helpful for singing artfully and prayerfully. I am quite pleased with Richard's results, especially considering that the recording session only lasted about three hours, with frequent interruptions by ambulance sirens, construction vehicles, clanging plumbers, and various other intrusions of urban life.
