Music Based Evangelization Opportunities with "The Ladies of Cecilia".
Proclaiming the faith through beautiful music.

We are “The ladies of Cecilia”, a vocal ensemble of orthodox, Catholic young women who wish to use our musical talents and knowledge of the faith to make a difference in peoples lives. The principle focus of our ministry is the advancement of the Culture of Life by the promotion of authentic Catholic family values to today’s young people. It is our hope that, through the music we perform and the witness we give, we may lead others to a knowledge of Christ and His Church.

Do you like to sing or can you play an instrument well?
Do you enjoy sharing your Catholic faith with others?
Can you be a good role model and make a difference in a young person’s life?

We are conducting a nationwide talent search for Catholic young ladies of above average music ability in the areas of classical or contemporary voice (alto or soprano), string or wind instruments. While not a requirement, acting, dance, music theater or public speaking experience would be an additional plus. Some knowledge of Latin would also be helpful.

Performing in small vocal ensembles, to both youth groups and general audiences, these young ladies will take the principles of our Catholic faith and "multiply", so to speak, their effect through the medium of music: quality music performed by women of character, modesty, and grace. Through their own good example, and the witness they give, they will promote the virtues of true womanhood and authentic Catholic family life to today’s young people

High school seniors, college age women or recent graduates, especially those with degrees in music, are encouraged to apply. Individuals who were either home-schooled or were raised in the Tridentine Mass tradition are also most welcome.

This is a great opportunity for young women to learn more about their own faith, while meeting other young Catholic musicians who share the same traditional values. Parents of younger girls, ages 12-16, who may be interested in our junior program, are also encouraged to apply.

Our basic requirements are: a strong music background in one’s chosen field; a sound knowledge of basic Catholic teachings; faithfulness to the Holy Father and the Magisterium of the Church; a strong devotion to Our Lady and the Rosary; and a good understanding and appreciation of the Church’s teaching on modesty.

Performers will be paid on a per performance basis, with all travel, food & lodging expenses paid. Interested young ladies may mail or e-mail (preferred) their résumé with repertoire to:

What kind of position is this? Will the young ladies be paid? Will there be a lot of time on the road?
  • I have the same question as Kathy. I have a number of excellent young voices that I think would be perfect for this, but would really like some details before I endorse it by sending it to them.
  • It LOOKS like an "Up with People" model where the kids have to pay for the experience. It can work in the right situations. If the students see it as a great learning opportunity, it would be worth the money. BTW they need to spell check "principal".

  • I had some conversations with this group and they are building this to be a paying job for the singers. They are very practical and intent on making this work. They arrange music for the talent that they have at hand and if you view the video of the ETWN program you can see what they are up to. They have a very clear plan and know what music that they want to use, but are also open to suggestions.

My conversations with them had to do with some arranging they needed done. What they wanted, as I said they have a clear idea of what they want, was beyond my skill level to do adequately.
