Monastery and Cathedral

I'm interested in reading books and articles that discuss the historical differences between the liturgies in monasteries and those in cathedrals, especially in the Latin Rite. Any suggestions?

The Forms and Orders of the Western Liturgy by John Harper is a general guide, but you may want to look at several sources.
