There's a job opening for Organist & Director at St. Bede Church in Williamsburg (NPM Hotline listing). Does anyone here have any pertinent information they would be willing to share...privately, per forum guidelines?
The original church was very well and tastefully done in the Georgian colonial style inside and out, matching the architecture of much of this charming city. About six or eight years ago a new, larger and rather modern church was built on the city's outskirts. There is a real organ of at least moderate size. What the music program is like I do not know.
Three students from the College of William and Mary, forming a new schola, attended the Chant Intensive in Charleston, so there may be a little space for the Church's music in Williamsburg.
So, there you were, sitting there, expecting possibly a beautiful sunset and, without being invited, the architecture sat next to you and kept asking, "is it sunset yet? Do you have a pencil? Got gum?"
Sorry, couldn't resist. Too much time spent in the car today, I guess.
