The cathedral's new organ is about to be blessed and of course we all know the beautiful language etc. concerning the blessing of the organ in the Rite of Blessings. However, our bishop mentioned that there is an organ blessing rite that has the celebrant and the organ "speak/sing" in dialogue (the organ basically being the "other voice"). It apparently dates back centuries...
Does anyone on this forum know anything about this? Where to look for it etc?
I realize this thread is from 2009. In light of Notre Dame Cathedral's reopening, it looks like a similar service was done at this particular church for their Organ. It may not be exact, but perhaps it is a starting point for someone else who might be looking for this.
