The choirs at the Vatican under his direction were of varying quality, according to priests who heard it....but now that he is back and they actually rehearse, who knows?
Here's the listing from the festival web site. Dom Saulnier from Solesmes is the schola director. I would love to hear what his schola sounds like. He does not consider himself a proponent of the "classic" Solesmes method. Does anyone know if this will be recorded in any way?

My best tenor has tickets for Midnight Mass at St. Peter's this year. He is so excited, and I am looking forward to hearing what he has to say about music. Not wonderful the last time I heard it, but like others, I understand there has been much improvement.
(Actually, I have two best tenors, so I am not in mourning over the older one's absence from choir loft this year LOL)
