Boston Archdiocesan Choir School and St. Paul Church in historic Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA, seeks a full-time Organist and Music Director. The Boston Archdiocesan Choir School, founded in 1963, is a fully accredited day school for musically and academically talented boys in grades five through eight. The ideal candidate will be a master’s degree level professional who is a practicing Roman Catholic with parish experience and with proven ability in the teaching of children. The candidate will also have experience with the corpus of sacred choral literature, including traditional Catholic music, sacred polyphony, and Gregorian chant. Strong organ and conducting skills required. The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of the sacred liturgy. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills along with administrative abilities will be required in addition to the necessary computer skills. Responsibilities also include overseeing the music program for parish with strong liturgical tradition serving Harvard University Catholic population. Position available July 1, 2010.
