Singers Wanted: Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish Choir

I am auditioning professional and volunteer singers for the parish choir at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Kansas City, Missouri. We currently have openings for staff and volunteer singers of all voice types.

Stipend positions include:
• Wednesday rehearsals, 7:00–9:00 p.m. — $65 per rehearsal
• Sunday commitment, 8:30–11:00 a.m. — $100 per Mass
• Occasional services outside of Sundays

Rehearsals begin in late August, with the first Mass on September 13. The season runs through May 30. A complete calendar will be available in August.

Our repertoire will center on Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony, along with excellent modern compositions. Upcoming repertoire includes works by Palestrina, Byrd, Lassus, Morago, David Hurd, Jessica French, and Craig Phillips.
Strong music-reading skills are essential, and singers should be comfortable adapting their vocal technique to the linear character of chant and polyphony.

High school students are also welcome to audition. Local choral directors, please feel free to share this opportunity with interested students and singers.
