    Position Overview
    St. James the Less Catholic Church in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, is seeking a full-time Liturgy
    Director to lead and develop the parish music program and coordinate with the other liturgical
    ministries. The Liturgy Director will work collaboratively with the pastor, parish staff, choir,
    cantors, ushers, lectors, servers, etc. to foster reverent, prayerful, and beautiful sacred music that
    supports the liturgical life of the parish.
    The ideal candidate will possess strong musical ability, leadership skills, organizational
    competence, and a love for the sacred liturgy of the Catholic Church. Preference will be given to
    candidates with knowledge and appreciation of sacred music, including Gregorian chant,
    traditional hymnody, and the Church’s musical heritage.
    Primary Responsibilities
     Plan and coordinate music for weekend Masses, holy days, weddings, funerals, and other
    parish liturgies
     Play/sing for Masses and direct parish choir and cantors
     Working with instrumentalists
     Create or construct worship aids for all masses
     Recruit, train, and support volunteer musicians
     Collaborate with clergy and staff in liturgical planning
     Select music appropriate to the liturgical season and norms of the Catholic Church
     Coordinate music ministry schedules and rehearsals
    Qualifications
     Practicing Catholic in good standing with knowledge of and commitment to Catholic
    liturgical life
     Bachelor’s degree in music, sacred music, liturgy, or related field preferred
     Proficiency in organ and/or piano accompaniment
     Experience directing choirs and working with volunteer musicians
     Strong vocal and conducting skills
     Familiarity with Catholic liturgical music and Church documents regarding sacred music
     Preference given to candidates with knowledge of sacred music traditions, including
    chant and classical sacred repertoire

     Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
