The Church of St. Pius X in White Bear Lake, MN is looking for an organ accompanist to play the Sunday 9:30am mass with the choir, starting August 2026.
SPX has a long-standing choral program that has seen the many fads of the last century. Under direction of a supportive pastor and a new, young music director, the parish has seen a wonderful rejuvenation of its musical expression during the liturgy. Integrating tradition with the principles set forth by the documents of the Second Vatican Council, SPX has been implementing positive musical and liturgical changes to move the parish forward into a deeper worship of God that engulfs all senses in a proper way. Without an organist, some of the music that has been recently introduced to the parish would be much more difficult to include in the liturgy, such as Marco Frisina's Anima Christi and Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus.
In this transition, the previous organist found a natural time to retire. The parish is now looking for a new organist to accompany the choir and congregation on Sunday morning, aiding in the people's worship! The position is part time: ~5-6 hours per week.
