For ease of reference, (and becuase I couldn't find it anywhere online) here is a list of all the Solemnities and Feasts of the Lord that do not occur on Sundays, as well as all the Vigil Masses according to the NO. Hope this helps!

"Only a Solemnity or a Feast of the Lord can outrank a Sunday in Ordinary Time. (According to the normal rules, nothing can outrank a Sunday of the other liturgical seasons.)"

Not correct. Solemnities of Our Lady can outrank Sundays of Ordinary Time (the Solemnity of the Assumption of the BVM does); Sundays of Ordinary Time function in precedential terms as Feasts of the Lord. And the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God can fall on a Sunday in Christmastide.

Since the Assumption of the BVM is a Solemnity, it outranks the Sunday in ordinary time. Both Solemnities and Feasts of the Lord outrank Sundays in Ordinary Time. What I meant by the latter sentance was that the Immaculate Conception or the Annunciation won't outrank the First Sunday of Advent or the 4th Sunday of Lent for example.

I think @Liam's confusion is in the bracketing - (Solemnity or Feast) of the Lord vs Solemnity or (Feast of the Lord). The latter is correct and what OP meant

That's a helpful clarification. "Only a Solemnity (or a Feast of the Lord) can outrank" would be clearer.
