Cappella Romana - recordings
  • I'd love your opinions on Cappella Romana. Some of their albums have been exceedingly important to me. I love the Lost Voices of Hagia Sophia, where they reconstructed via a super long process the exact acoustics of the Hagia Sophia and recorded super early Byzantine chants from the time period in that acoustic. Their St. Catherine's Vespers is likewise incredible, as is the chants from the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Below is the interview I did with Dr. Alexander Lingas, the founding director of the ensemble, who just recently retired.
