Glancing at the index of the "codex," the phrase "treasure of inestimable value" comes to mind. This may not be a collection of polyphony of the greatest sophistication, but it is exactly the type of "homely" music, with settings of authentic liturgical texts, that will enable choirs at the parish level to work toward singing the full propers every week. No more excuses for singing Mozart's "Ave verum" every week (with all due respect to the Maestro). If your choir can sing that, it can sing these propers. It's realling inspiring that someone would make such a contribution of time an energy to such a worthwhile project. I hope people use these and send contributions to match.
I must admit, though, I was a little baffled by the title of the collection (thought I needed to go back to my history 101 texts) until I "got" it. ;)
