After reading the newly promulgated document that belittles the Titles of the Virgin Mary, I thought it appropriate to give you an Ave that can be performed in Reparation to her Immaculate Heart. This is taken from my SATTBB rendition that I composed in 2018 which was never performed for lack of many things. It is in the Lydian Mode which evokes a kind of sorrow with the unusual raised 4th.

Perhaps you can put it to good use, and it will sooth the pains of Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother.

From mm. 38 through 48, very cool. I like the half cadence on octave As. Some of the fermatas aren't present in some of the voices at times. An easy fix. I enjoyed this!

    Thanks for the review.

Yes, 38 - 48 is one of those sections that magnifies my proclivity for lush harmonic progressions that attempt to evoke a mysterious hue of sorts.

It is a device I have worked at over the years-a kind of "harmonic metamorphosis" I suppose-progressions intensified by sharing common tones from one chord to the next using suspensions and wandering through ambiguous key changes. (I believe it keeps the listener wondering what the heck is coming next, but always resolves into something quite satisfying and beautiful.)

You might also like to hear this piece which uses that same device throughout. It is the fifth movement of my Teton Wilderness Suite (composed in 2009), "Sunset-Twilight-Dusk". I would be interested to hear your thoughts on it.

Not bad! It reminds me of Delius' A Song Before Sunrise. I like the added 2nd at the end. Added 6ths and 2nds are some of my favorite things.

Sixths and seconds… they are the best spices in the recipe of music comp.
