Hi all (my dear MusicaSacra friends, colleagues, brothers and sisters in Christ.)

OK… It’s been 20 wonderful years collaborating with like minded musical Catholics from when I was first invited by (Fr Skeris?) to join the gathering in 2005 at CUA. I think there were 47 “closet RC pro musicians” at that conference including Jeffrey, Bill, (perhaps William, but I’m not sure) definitely Curt, because I remember him intoning the “Alleluia”. Arlene was there. I think I was asked to intone something for Vespers… It might’ve been the Marian antiphon. I remember the Mass that we were celebrating at the Franciscan Monastery and I was singing countertenor next to Jeff who turned and gave me “a look.”

Anyway, I composed this in 2009 when I was DoM in Wyoming. It was the music prior to Midnight Mass, and I employed a string trio who premiered this piece with me. Maybe it was cello and violin… cant recall… but I sent this to public radio yesterday as a Christmas gift for the air waves…

It’s got a little bit of Debussy, Mozart and, of course, Bach, influences. I am sorry I dont have a REAL piano on which to practice and record. But nonetheless, it’s the black and white notes that count.

    Love to all!

Have a very blessed and merry Christmas!

    Francis
