Hot take here but there’s something proto-technocratic about giant do-it-all organs. It’s like even as just built objects they “visually” subordinate the human voice and transform the organist from an instrumentalist into a “liturgical mastermind” from whom some kind of romantic “genius” is expected. I love organs, of course, but personally feel some nostalgia for a small and simple setup like this.
