Petrus Piacenza (died 1919) is named as the author of (at least) two hymns in Liber Hymnarius: "Inclitos Christi" and "Sacrata nobis". I found one web site that mentions "Pietro Picenza", "1847-1919", "sac." (i assume this means "priest") and "teologico italiano". It also lists a dozen publications, many with something like "divino Officio" in the title. Can anyone tell me more about this person? Did he write other hymns?

Piacenza was a protonotary apostolic working in what was then called the Sacred Congregation of Rites (now the DDWDS). He was on the commission for Pius X's breviary reform. Inclitos Christi and another hymn of his, Plenis resultet vocibus were in the Divino Afflatu breviary. The latter hymn uses an acrostic to spell out: "Placentia proton[otarius] ap[ostolicus] SCR"

He wrote the article Masses of Requiem for the 1912 Catholic Encyclopedia.
