I attended Mary Immaculate of Lourdes Church, Newton, MA for a moving Holy Thursday Mass (1962 Missal). Unfortunately, I misplaced the program, which had the propers sung along with two works by Palestrina and one by Heinrich Isaac. (Edit: the schola chanted Mass VIII)
In contrast, at a (Novus Ordo) church where I will fill in at the bench this weekend, a decision has been made to cut the Sequence from the Mass. I pointed out the obligatory nature of this text and received sympathetic agreement from equally powerless musicians. This assumed option-itis by clergy and laity is out of control.
The TLM was packed, which I rarely see at the NO these days.

I put out something and I was really pleased with how it turned out in terms of the congregation picking it up. Now if only the pitch wouldn’t drop so far…
@JacobFlaherty, I would encourage you to keep the mediant and the full stop. Cf Fontgombault. Congregations are capable of quite a bit of nuance if we push them.
