Congregational Chant Recordings

These recordings are a gift to the Church at large. Are your parishioners struggling to learn these chants? What about your cantors and choirs? Have you had trouble finding recordings in keys equally suitable for low and high voices, sung in alternation with cantors, without distracting background noise, following the rhythmic markings consistently and with a consistent style of accompaniment? Look no further!

My only observation is that everyone sings the podatus at the "men" of "Amen" wherever it occurs after "saecula saeculorum" but the books prescribe, and pre-conciliar Solesmes sang, just the sole punctum. Perhaps a note to this effect in the description of the responses video would be helpful for a noob looking at the Liber as well.

FWIW, over several decades I am more used to encountering two punctums for the A-men concluding vernacular presidential chants than the podatus form.

Yeah. But I think that even in France the podatus took hold among trads.

It's not a huge deal, although if I had a blank slate in a new trad situation, I'd produce a booklet that follows the Vatican Edition/Liber Usualis directly.

It's the customary usage here, since before I arrived. I have discussed it with our priests in the past, but nobody sees a need to change (correct) it. There is a note on the playlist description. Although strictly speaking it doesn't pertain to the Masses of priests who have been given use of the 1962 books, it's worth noting that the current Vatican edition (and also the current Solesmes editions) give the podatus form only.

PS - The videos are arranged not by season but more or less in order of frequency.

Yeah, I know that it’s customary. I saw the description. Nevertheless, I try to anticipate all objections.
