Hello all,

According to a Mensural/Proportional interpretation of Gregorian chant, would the Creed and simple settings of the Gloria have been chanted as recitative chant (like the collects and other chanted prayers), or would they too be chanted with a set rhythm?

The reason I ask is because these chants appear to be extremely drawn out and slow when chanted proportionally, due to the "infrequency" of short notes.
