St. Bernard Catholic Parish, in beautiful Middleton, WI, is looking to hire a full-time Sacred Music and Liturgy Director/Coordinator.
Primary duties include: - helping to foster the spiritual growth of parishioners through beautiful liturgies; - playing the organ/piano for Sunday and Holy Day Masses; - recruiting, training, scheduling, and accompanying cantors; - recruiting for, training, and directing parish choirs; - collaborating with the priests to select liturgical music and coordinate liturgical celebrations; - recruiting, training, scheduling, and overseeing liturgical ministers; - assisting with funerals; - overseeing liturgical decorating and hospitality volunteers; - and providing educational/instructional opportunities as needed/appropriate (among other things).
The ideal candidate will be a committed disciple of Jesus Christ, have a basic knowledge of Catholic liturgical and sacred music principles as taught in official Church documents, be a team player who collaborates well with others, be a strong communicator, and be comfortable working with people of all ages.
