Hymn "Praecessor almus gratiae" vs "Praecursor altus luminis"

What is the relationship between the hymns "Praecessor almus gratiae" (Liber Hymnarius page 426, for the Passion of John the Baptist, 5 stanzas including doxology) and "Praecursor altus luminis" (St. Augustine's Lyre and other places on line, for the Nativity of John the Baptist, 16 stanzas without doxology)? Both are in Long Meter, and both are attributed to the Venerable Bede. Is one a later re-writing of the other?

Looking online it seems that the longer Hymn is by St. Bede and is found in his complete works. The Liber Hymnarius of course contains hymns that were edited by Dom Lentini, who was very talented hymn writer but had some very strange ideas about miracles and doxologies.
