The parish of Saint Mary in Wappingers Falls, NY is a mid-sized church with Masses in both English and Spanish. Wappingers Falls is a northern suburb of New York City, very near Metro North’s Hudson transit line in suburban Dutchess County.

Our music program includes an English-language choir at 10am on Sundays and a Spanish-language choir at 12 noon, with cantor and organist at the 5:30pm Mass on Saturdays. The choirs are composed of volunteers. We use traditional hymns, Mass propers from Source and Summit, occasional Gregorian propers, and chant or chant-like settings of the Ordinary. Thanks to the outgoing director of music, we have been building in a more traditional direction, and our new director should share this vision.

We are looking for a director of music who can potentially serve as both organist and cantor, as well as leading the two parish choirs. Responsibilities also include funerals, weddings, and quinceañeras. Spanish language skills a plus.

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
