does anyone have any experience with funding youth chorister scholarships at a local parish level? specifically, what criteria (age? talent? length of time in schola?) do you use for choosing who may qualify and what scholarship amounts have you granted? we're thinking about creating a program with funds from a generous donor. anything else to consider? thanks in advance.
If it's a Choir School, to which he must apply, a needs-based process might be useful. If it's a Choir School, is it intended to reward excellence or incentivize excellence?
Not a choir school; just a parish with four churches with a history of supporting a once robust choral program (adult and youth) which is now looking to attract talented youth to the program as it rebuilds post-Covid.
