I like these pieces, because though they are organ versicles that "replace" the actual text of the Magnificat, they are 1) lyrical and 2) very short.
(In my opinion, this seems to put the organ and the actual human voices on more equal footing and in greater balance. It does not become an organ concert interrupted by Gregorian Chant!)
