Mundelein Psalter PDF
  • Greetings!

I don't know why I am having such a difficult time finding a PDF with the Mundelein psalm tones. I'd like to use them in Vespers and Compline programs I make for my parish. People do well enough figuring out the melodies by ear, but I think it would help participation tremendously to have little melodic reminders at the beginning of each of the psalms/canticles. Thanks for the assist!

    God bless,
    Daniel

They use the tones from St. Meinrad's Archabbey, I believe. St. Meinrad's provides the tones in several forms:
    — neums (melody only)
    — modern notation (melody only, with a little explanation)
    — harmonized (intended for organ accompaniment & unison singing)

I couldn't find such a thing either. You might find what you're looking for in the Google Books archive of the Mundelein Psalter:
    https://books.google.com/books?id=HsYbAxKFfKQC&printsec=frontcover#v=onepage&q&f=false

You can use screengrabs to copy the tones you want to use and paste them into your booklet.

I used some in Vespers booklets I put together.

I can share gabc code and/or the images with you.

Feel free to message me if you are interested in one or both.
