    Hi All,

I am playing a few of these for meditation/postlude on the Solemnity of the Annunciation. The Ave Maris Stella is well known, but I am wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of the chants any of the others are based on, specifically II "His left hand is under my head, His right hand doth embrace me." and III "I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem."

    Many Thanks!

I think they are antiphons for Vespers of the Blessed Virgin Mary. II is “Laeva ejus sub capite meo,” III is ‘Nigra sed sum formosa’

Yes 5 antiphons from Vespers of the BVM or for the Assumption, all texts based on the Song of Songs.
    Dum esset rex Ct 1:11
    Laeva eius Ct 2:6
Nigra sum sed formosa Ct 1:4
    Iam hiems transiit Ct 2:11
Pulchra es et decora Ct 6:3
