Simbang Gabi & Votive Masses in general

    I've gotten wind of some Simbang Gabi Masses at our church (in the form of a heads-up that two 7:30 choir rehearsals for Christmas will have to be without use of the organ, yikes). I'm looking forward to learning more, but from what I understand it's a Novena of Votive Masses, and in a previous Rorate thread MarkB posted some helpful background links. I'm mainly puzzled about the lessons: the same day after day or not?

    The wikipedia article says that if evening masses they use the readings of the day. If in the small hours of the night then the readings of that day, and that evening masses must NOT anticipate the readings of the following day.
