Saint Therese Catholic Church is Seeking a
Director of Music Ministry

The Director of Music Ministry is responsible for leading the music ministry of the parish. These responsibilities include presiding over the weekend liturgies, organizing and directing the Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, training cantors and overseeing the Sanctuary Band (the Contemporary Praise Band). The Director will also lead the Handbell Choir.

This part-time paid position works 25-29 hours per week and reports to the Parish Manager. The ideal candidate must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule (including flexible days/hours and possible evenings).
 
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in music (Master’s degree preferred) or equivalent experience and requisite skills
• Music performance skills in the areas of organ, piano, and/or voice (choral and cantor skills); and be open to all styles of appropriate music
• Knowledge of Catholic liturgical music
• Working knowledge of Phoenix organ, Rodgers electronic organ, Brodmann grand piano, Kawai piano, Malmark handbells and choir chimes

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Select and prepare music for 3-4 regular weekend liturgies and all special liturgies/programs
• Prepare all musicians/vocalists for performances at Masses and other celebrations
• Supervise Sound Technician and Sanctuary Band Accompanist
