This weekend we're celebrating the anniversary of our church dedication. My lumen christi missal and graduals, however, have nothing for such a day. :(

this thread helped me find the propers. So, thanks for that.

However I can't seem to find anyone else who has asked for or offered an arrangement of the responsorial psalm (which is "How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Hosts" if google is to be believed?)

Does anyone know a decent arrangement of this responsorial psalm?

    Thanks!
  • There is one in Gather, but I don't recall if it is by the NAMELESS one or not. I don't know if you'll think it "decent" or not.

I love this psalm, and get to pray it every Friday during the little hours.

    Thanked by 1princehal

Per Daily Roman Missal, p. 2042, there are five options for the RP for the Common of the Dedication of a Church [ = Anniversary of the Dedication of a Church ]:

    1 Chr 29: 10, 11, 12 "We praise your glorious name, O mighty God."

Ps 46: 2-3, 5-6, 8-9 "The Lord of Hosts is with us; our stronghold is the God of Jacob."
[see Tuesday of the Fourth Week of Lent]

Ps 84: 3, 4, 5 and 10, 11 "How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord, mighty God!"
[see Tuesday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time, Year II]

Ps 95: 1-2, 3-5, 6-7 "Marana tha! Come, Lord Jesus!"
[ see Saturday of the Thirty-Fourth Week in Ordinary Time, Year II]

Ps 122: 1-2, 3-4ab, 8-9 "Let us go rejoicing into the house of the Lord"
[see the First Sunday of Advent, Year A; omit the verses not needed]

At least the last option will be easy to find set to music.

There are some responsorial psalm projects listed here:

that is, collections by Aristotle Esguerra, Arlene Oost-Zinner, and Brian Michael Page.

and also several composers contributing to the "Chabanel Psalms" project.

In the Lumen Christi Missal, look at page 782 (November 9) and 972 (Commons of the Dedication of a Chruch).
