Saint Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Beverly, MA is seeking an accomplished organist and choir director to work as the Director of Music.

The Music Director will work collaboratively with the parish clergy, staff, and volunteers to provide for the worship needs of the parish. The Music Director will be faithful to Catholic liturgical standards, foster a welcoming environment for the sharing of one’s gifts and
talents, and encourage full and active congregational participation.
Due to current COVID restrictions, this position will begin with the responsibility of one Mass per weekend, and other holy days and events as specified with the expectation that weekend Masses will be gradually added to the schedule with a commensurate rise in pay and benefits.

Funerals and weddings are an additional stipend amount.
The exceptional Hook & Hastings pipe organ at St. Mary’s has pride of place in all liturgical events at the parish. The magnificent three manual thirty-seven rank instrument is well-maintained. Most recently, the console was replaced with one custom made for the parish following the pattern of other period Hook & Hastings organs.
