In case some of you have wondered why I haven’t been a nuisance on this forum for the past few months - I’ve been waiting to hear back about an application I made, and I received my acceptance letter last week. I will be going to seminary on November 6th of this year.
Please keep me in your prayers. I will need them for these next seven years. (My rehab will begin in earnest!) Outside of the general prayers I have made for everyone on this forum, I am more than happy to pray for specific intentions; please PM them and I’ll let you know I’ve received them.
I know that you must be deeply thankful and perhaps, as C.S. Lewis put it, 'surprised by joy'. Godspeed!
This verse comes to mind - The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart hath trusted in him and I am helped * therefore my heart danceth for joy and in my song will I praise him. - Psalm XXVIII.viii
When we hear of the modern day equivalent of Luther and his dramatic door nailing, we will know exactly where the uproar is coming from and who started it.
Come now, Charles, you know me better than that. I was putting certain papal bulls on the doors of Lutheran churches as far back as Halloween 2017 (celebrating a very special event). To be fair, though, I didn’t nail it, only taped an envelope to the sacristy door - it’s be a shame to ruin an aesthetically pleasing set of doors!
Prayers for you. Commending you to Our Lady of Victories and St. Therese of Little Flower (patroness of priests). Stay strong, and fight the good fight. God's will be done!
