A choir member sent this to me. Haven't perused it much yet, but it looks promising.

    it does look promising

    here is a link
  • This is the website for the Schola Bellarmina. They have recorded the entire kyriale and all the propers for the Sundays of the year and the propers for major feasts. They developed the CDs specifically for the purpose of providing a model for instruction. I have the CD collection. They are excellent. They have been invaluable in helping me to learn to chant the propers. The Schola Bellarmina follows the "Classic Solesmes" method, but with relatively little emphasis on the ictic note of the Salicus.

thanks, Brian --- that explains why it was difficult to find out much about them or their ecclesiastical status --- they tend to not want to reveal much about themselves

i also have the all the CD's ---- I would say there are some really nice things about them, and some things open to criticism (but what do I know?)

looks like they redesigned their CD covers, and they look EVEN MORE impressive
  • Jeff,
I would be interested in hearing more about both what you find "really nice" about the Schola Bellarmina CDs, and what you find "open to criticism."
