Is there a rubric for EF Roman Rite which says how to sing the responsories with those double cross like "Aspiciens a longe", "Ecce dies veniunt" or "Duo Seraphim"? Am I obliged to sing the response to the end after each verse?
I believe the correct way to sing Duo Seraphim would be:
1) Sing the whole response part up to the Verse; 2) After the verse, go back to the first asterisk or cross and stop at the second; 3) Sing Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto, and then sing from the Second asterisk or cross up to the Verse.
In other words, this the whole text:
R. Duo Séraphim clamábant alter ad álterum: * Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dóminus Deus Sabaoth: * Plena est omnis terra glória eius. V. Tres sunt qui testimónium dant in cælo: Pater, Verbum, et Spíritus Sanctus: et hi tres unum sunt. R. Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dóminus Deus Sabaoth. V. Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui Sancto. R. Plena est omnis terra glória eius.
I don't know the other responsories you mentioned, but at least for Duo Seraphim, there is no entire repetition of the first part.
