I have Bach Trios and Mendelssohn Sonatas in music which is 14 x 10. I like to play from them as they spread out right across the music desk, and there is minimal page turning. My problem is that they are old, I bought them when I was a student of Dr. F.T.Durrant at the Royal Academy in London in the 1960s!. The covers are in disrepair. Does anyone else have this problem and know where I can get 14 x 10 covers?
I too have many old copies that are in disrepair. I make copies of the pieces I am using, which saves wear and tear on the originals. I believe that this is legal since I already bought the originals and it is just for personal use.
Francis, one option is to copy the covers themselves onto card stock at a copy center. Then you can tape them over the ones that are in disrepair.
Pro tip: get the cloth sports tape for $2.50 a roll at walmart in the pharmacy section. It’s the best stuff for repairing a binding without spending wayyyy too much on specialist bookbinding tape. Works a dream.
