The Cathedral of the Epiphany in Sioux City, IA is seeking a full-time Director of Sacred Music. The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the planning and execution of sacred music for liturgies of the Cathedral Parish, which also includes St. Boniface and St. Joseph Churches. Essential functions include but are not limited to: plan music for Masses in English, Spanish, and in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, as well as lead most liturgies. Schedule musicians for liturgies not led by the Director of Sacred Music; direct, promote, and oversee Cathedral choral program(s); serve as principal musicians at all Episcopal Liturgies; oversee the maintenance and upkeep of musical instruments; oversee formatting and printing of worship aids; meet with couples planning weddings; meet with families planning funerals, in coordination with the priests; work with Bishop Heelan High School to plan, and occasionally lead, school Masses; and other duties as assigned. The applicant must possess excellent communication/organization skills. A Masters in Sacred Music/Conducting, or Organ Performance is desirable.
