St Theresa Catholic Church, an energized parish, located in Belleview FL, is presently seeking a Music Director for our Parish. The music director will develop and lead the music ministry for the Parish, in consultation with the Pastor. St. Theresa is a growing church that incorporates traditional and contemporary music. Though in a retirement community, we have an outreach to young families and individuals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Researches and prepares all liturgical music, in keeping with the preferences of the pastor.
• Accompanies preferably by organ and piano.
• Musically leads all Masses, including sacramental, Holy Days, Weddings, Funerals and special celebrations
• Teaches and leads both contemporary and traditional music that reflects Vatican II theology and scriptural texts
• Recruit and train music ensembles at different levels: adult and children
• Plans and leads rehearsals for all choirs, cantor and musicians
• Secures proper copyrights for all worship participation aids;
• Works with the Director of Religious Education in the preparation of children's liturgies

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in music or its equivalent, preferred
• Music skills required: keyboard, voice and conducting
• At least five years’ experience in a director’s position, preferred
• The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic who works well with others and matches our church value of joy and hospitality.
• Must be willing to undergo a Diocesan Background Check and complete Safe Environment training
