    There is no offertory antiphon, but I am interested in knowing how many use music at this point. Do you sing a motet or use organ, is there silence? Thanks in advance for your replies.
  • This year my choir (i.e., the one in which I sing) sang Monteverdi's Ave Maria with 3 male voices, and if I had managed to get back upstairs in time, I would have added more organ music after that. Frequently (i.e., in normal years) we sing Palestrina's Sicut Cervus, as a reinforcement of the antiphon we would have just sung on the way to the blessing of the baptismal font.

  • It is our custom to song the Lotti “Regina Coeli”.

    A few years ago, one young man came by after Mass to say he really feels it’s Easter when he hears that!

    We always sing (not this year!) the Christus Resurgens, here is the Dominican Version, https://gregobase.selapa.net/chant.php?id=5094, we sing the version in the Roman (Solesmes) books, but there is also a Sarum version. They usually have the same text, but some minor differences in the melody. Other versions here, http://www2.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Christus_resurgens

    N.B. We sing the Responsory, but some of the text is used for an Antiphon, an Alleluia and a Communion. Part of the text also appears in an Epistle (sometime after Pentecost E.F.)

    It is very appropriate, as it has been sung on the Vigil or Sunday for well over 1000 years.

    The livestream I watched (Gower nuns) sang O Filii et Filiae, followed by some silence.

    @HollyO
    I see I scanned our copy of Christus resurgens it can be found here with other interesting things suitable for Easter, https://societyofstbede.wordpress.com//?s=christus+resurgens&search=Go
    I have updated resources to be uploaded when I get time!

    The Organ option is seconded by Henri de Villiers, https://schola-sainte-cecile.com, Not that I can find the Programme for the Vigil. I won't be changing our practice though!
