Organ Improv on Hosanna Filio David
  • I spent the day tweaking our live streaming setup at Mater Dei Harrisburg, and needed to check audio balance with the organ for Easter. I decided to play with a timely chant theme: Hosanna Filio David.

We're setup now with three camera angles (two different views of the sanctuary, and the nave view in this video), and six mics (one near the altar, one at the pulpit, two pointed at the sanctuary from the left & right, and a stereo pair pointed at the choir loft). It's not perfect, and we still have glitches... but at least we're delivering a decent view and sound to our parishioners. Strange times, these.

  • It's an 1885 Felgemaker, overhauled, expanded, and revoiced in 2009 by a local organbuilder, R.J. Brunner & Associates. In its current configuration it's a 2 manual (61 note compass) + pedal (32 notes) comprising 28 ranks.
