Friends, wanted to share a motet by Pierre de la Rue based on this Sunday's (OT 5-A) First Reading from Isaiah ("Share your bread with the hungry in your midst...").

It's originally in Latin, but I "anglicized" it for my website, www.englishmotets.com.

Feel free to grab another singer and give it a run! Score and MIDI attached.

  • Heath,

Is the original available, and is it in two parts or more than that?

I believe I secured the original at CPDL; yes, two-part original.

A couple of other settings are Tolius (SATTB) and Bach with delicious antiphony of recorders, oboes & strings.
