FWIW, I typically encounter it on the Sunday after Christmas (Holy Family) or Mary Mother of God. One of its better points, if the fuller text is used of course, is that it connects the mystery of the Incarnation directly to the Paschal mystery in a concise but accessibly poetic way. In this way, I consider it something of an English bookend to the American "I Wonder As I Wander."
