Yes I was petty like that at Mass today.

I have gone so far on other days when that word is used to leave a note for the lectors in the sacristy. Prophesy, like "sigh."

I am waiting to hear about Anus the high priest later in the week.

I heard "prophecy" at the Saturday Vigil, and promptly wrote down prophesy/prophecy on the chalkboard for the choir before the Sunday morning Mass.

That's sort of like incense the altar with good incense.

We once had a lector do a long reading from the book of "job"... and then the priest spoke about Job in his homily...

exalt/exult, I am tired of hearing of people exalting over their enemies.

There was a lector back in grad school that caught herself mid-sentence during the St. John Passion on Good Friday saying "the relative of one whose Peter had been cut off..."

3/4 lectors this on the 5th sunday of Lent said "prostate" instead of "prostrate."
The staff and I had been discussing the week prior our biggest pet peeves with lectoring and this had come up. Without fail.

It's so much easier in Latin, where MaRI-a can't be easily confused with MA-ria.
