I wanted to invite those in the DC area to visit an art exhibit in the Memorial Hall at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. The exhibit, entitled "An Illuminated Requiem: Meditations on Love and Mortality," is based on the Proper chants of the Requiem Mass, which are expressed through the encaustic (wax) medium. The panels are accompanied by floral paintings, conveying the experience of love on the context of mortality. The exhibit will be on display from Oct 29th to Nov 29th, with an artist' talk being offered on Nov 15th at 7pm. The talk will also be shared on the Basilica's YouTube channel, so I hope to post that link when it is available.
