    With great fanfare and jubilation, I announce the publication of the Saint Romanos Psalter, a complete setting of the Lectionary Psalms for the Ordinary Form. This project has been in progress for several years, and I am also pleased that Daniel Mitsui accepted the commission to provide an original drawing as cover art.

    Here’s the foreword and front matter; a brief essay on the cover art and the premises on which I based my compositions. Only Nixon could go to China; so only a Gregorian chant scholar could say Gregorian melodies don’t fit English! It’s a bold claim, but I think I lay out my rationale pretty well in the attached document.

    For the record, I’m a devotee of Gregorian chant! I founded a men’s schola, I’ve introduced it everywhere I’ve worked, I can sightread straight from the Graduale, but this project is different.
