St. Francis Borgia Church, a vibrant parish of over 1,800 families in scenic Cedarburg, WI, just 20 miles North of Milwaukee, is seeking a talented, dynamic, deeply faith-filled individual to lead its music ministry. This position oversees the entire liturgical music program which is a strong ministry and a gem stone in a parish with many active ministries.
This position oversees the entire liturgical music program with major responsiblities including:
Playing at Masses including weekends, holy days, weddings, funerals, and other Masses as needed Liturgical music selections Rehearsals with choirs, cantors, and instrumentalists Working with the pastor on liturgical matters Gradually introducing chant to the liturgy in a manner that respects the established traditions of the parish
Qualifications The ideal candidate for this position will have a minimum of 3 years experience in liturgical music leadership, demonstrated competencies as an organist, pianist, choral director and be well educated in Catholic liturgical doctrine. Excellent communication and organizational skills essential. A Bachelor of Arts degree in music (preferably in organ or choral) is required as a minimum with a Master's degree in liturgical music preferred.
