I believe Stimson is referring to this

Enthusiasm: A Chapter in the History of Religion with Special Reference to the XVII and XVIII Centuries

Crown Estates revenues are taxed at 100%, the treasury hands a small amount back to the Queen.
    A curious definition of 100%.

It's a great book; one of Knox's personal favorites. (He's a little harsh towards Bossuet in my opinion, but that's a minor quibble.) Newman no doubt would've loved it too, though.
  • Does anyone know whether the divorcée bride (Meghan Markle) wore White? And, if the answer is "yes," does anyone know the reasoning behind such a choice?

Yes. Because a white wedding *dress* doesn't necessarily signify anything in particular - it's not been *the* wedding dress color for brides in the West for an especially long time. (Veiling, however, has a more longstanding traditional association for weddings.) Had Ms Markle's baptism been in the Catholic church (she wasn't baptized until recently), it would seem she would have been eligible for the Pauline Privilege to marry (her first husband was Jewish).

Eleohant in the room. It is acceptable for Prince Harry to marry in church a divorced, bi-racial, B-list American actress, but NOT a Roman Catholic. Inclusivity?

I'm not sure what "bi-racial" is doing on that list.

I could understand the bi-racial part. Royalty has prided itself on its "pure" bloodlines not tainted by common blood. Even those less than royalty who marry into the family usually have some connection to previous monarchs or are members of titled families, at least. This wedding is a departure. The divorced, B-C list, and so on has been done before.
