Not sure if any or many of you caught the funeral Mass from Birmingham AL Cathedral this morning, but our friend and colleague Bruce Ludwick deserves a CMAA thumbs up for his work.

    Leaflet available here:

If the video is archived somewhere I will add it to this post at some point.

    It looks really great!
    However, only one comment:
"Please respond according to one of the formulas"
    Dangerous! LOL

    Unfortunate line-break:

    "and where Lazarus is poor
no longer may you find eternal rest."

Yes, there should definitely have been some commas in there.
"No longer may you find eternal rest" is a scary ending to a funeral program.

    And Lazarus is still poor....
  • At least Poor Man Lazarus by Vincent Persichetti (sp?) wasn't on the list of music for Mass.

I'm thankful for the copy editing, but unfortunately a bit too late! I can't claim total responsibility, since two clerics gave it the go-over!

Here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFbhUmz4zUM) is their archived feed. One disclaimer: EWTN's mic setup consisted of two AKG 414's about three feet from the choir...and that's it for the loft. In addition, they'd planned on having them at head level. We at least got them up to 10ft or so, but there is zero room ambience...so the chant sounds terribly slow, choir somewhat aggressive, etc. It all was much better in the room, but hopefully helps explain some of what you hear. For what it's worth, it's much improved over the Vespers feed the night before, which was terribly compressed. The monks sounded great in person, as they always do, but you might not know it from the recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_TOF53VPy8.
